2025-12-06First time was a bit pushy but mostly fine. I asked for gel removal and a regular manicure. Helen managed to convince me to upgrade to gel after telling me multiple times gel is much better and only $10 more. She was out of the gel color I wanted so she pulled out a second set of options. I chose the color most similar (burgundy), but the quality of that gel polish was the worst I’ve seen. The color kept ‘sliding’ around on my nails leaving lighter colored patches. Helen started having to put me under the UV light after painting 2 nails to get it to dry faster. Despite painting 5 coats of color, when I held my finished nails to the light, light shone through. They looked mostly fine if you weren’t inspecting closely. Nothing I would have left a bad review about. But since I had a bad experience my second visit, it’s worth mentioning. Now the second time. I went back to have my gel removed. Helen kept trying to convince me more than 5 times to get another service from her mom, complaining that it’s been slow, her mom has no work and she needs to pay rent. She said, “You remove your gel, I don’t know when you’ll come back. My customers remove their gel and I don’t see them for a long time.” I kept declining and dealt with the awkwardness. Then when it was time to pay, she said $10. However, she originally quoted me $7 for gel removal on the phone 2 weeks prior. I told her that and she said, “Oh sorry, (laughed awkwardly) you leave me a big tip then.” I won’t be returning.
