90's Nails

I stopped at this salon because my regular salon (Royal Nails) was closed on a Sunday & I figured with the reviews of 90s Nails, it would be a safe swap for salons. I needed a fill for Gel X, which cost me $74 (including tip). About an hour or so after leaving, I noticed my right pointer finger was throbbing on the nail bed and near the cuticle. I went back to the salon the same day and asked them to remove the nail. The tech said that she saw no infection and we all assumed it was just my skin having an odd reaction. For a short time, the rest of my 9 nails felt normal enough but later that night, the same throbbing and aching started with the rest of my nails and continued throughout the night. I have had my nails done professionally for many years and I know that this is not a good sign. I went back to 90s Nails the next morning & asked for them all to be removed. They offered a manicure and I declined. After they removed them, they told me it would be $10. I asked to speak with the owner, who was not on site. The manager at the salon called the owner on speaker phone, the owner told me I now owed $15 (not $10) for the removal. I did say that I would not pay because I just paid $74 the day before, only to be experiencing pain from the work on my nails and needing them to all be removed. I did ask for a refund for the work done on the previous day ($74). The manager and owner continued to have a conversation between themselves (was not in English), and since I felt as I was no longer included in the conversation, I walked outside. The manager followed me outside with the owner still on speaker phone. The owner (on the phone) told me that they would reluctantly allow me to leave without paying for the nail removal, but that they would not refund me the $74 because they were not responsible for my nails being in pain. I have never done this before at any nail salon. I do not claim to know how to properly do nails, that’s why I get mine professionally done at a salon. What I do know is that my nails should not be aching after getting them done at a salon. The owner also stated that because there was no visible infection, that there was nothing wrong with my nails. When the owner sees this, please explain to me why I would go through the trouble of paying $74 to put nails on and then take them all off the next day and ask for a refund if there was NOT an issue. Again, I am not a nail tech, but it seems like the issue is that there is virtually no space between my cuticles and the Gel X and I think that’s why I was in pain. I’m still hoping this salon will do the right thing and issue a refund for the poor service. I will not be returning and if I could leave zero stars, I would. For anyone reading this, Royal Nails on the Beck bridge is a much better alternative. Same price but extremely higher quality and no pain.

I had a great experience with Tony. He was very kind and did a detailed job on my engagement nails. He did not rush and worked on every cuticle and checked all nails to make sure they were no imperfections. Usually my shellac starts chipping within a week (when I went to other places) but these remained strong for almost 2 weeks. I will definitely come back.

Definitely recommend! I had a pedi by Henry and a gel x mani by Ann. They know what they are doing. The foot massage is outstanding, cuticles are taken care of, nails are shaped beautifully. But what I appreciate most is how precise and thorough they are. You will never feel rushed and will leave with exactly what you came for. Updated on 8/9 This was my 3rd time at this place. They are, hands down, consistently awesome! :) Shape, color, french tip - precisely how I wanted. I'm a definite regular now.

Awesome experience getting My pedicure done here. always exceptional quality, done professionally, nice and quiet atmosphere. For the weekend I usually call ahead to make an appointment. For spa always exceptional! Would definitely be back.
