Nail It ! - Nail Salon In Charleston

Vivian did an amazing job with my nails! She did them in about an hour and they turned out exactly like the picture I showed for reference, highly recommend!

This was my second visit to the salon. I had first visited upon my moving to Charleston in 2022 at which time I received the exact replica of a pic I had shown that I wanted for my daughter’s graduation from Navy boot camp. Well, fast forward to now, I’ve moved to Goose Creek and am newly engaged! My amazing fiance wanted to treat me to new set of nails and I knew I needed to find the place who had done so phenomenal before! Thankfully, through many searches, I did! I was so amazed at the growth their business has seen in just the 2 years since I’ve been here! I will admit, the visit started off a bit shaky as I have RA so relaxing my hands takes me some time and my nail technician became a bit testy with me. However, she did later apologize, as did I, and we had a beautiful conversation, caught up on the last couple of years, and ended the visit feeling as though I had known her all my life! I highly recommend Nail It! Every tech there has a smile, and kind word as you walk in. This is most definitely my new, and final nail “home”! Thank you for another sensational nail design! I came in for a soak-off and clearly explained that I didn’t mind the drill being used to remove the bulk of the acrylic. However, as we got closer to my natural nail, I requested that the remaining acrylic be filed off by hand to avoid damaging my real nails. This is a normal request and one I’ve had honored at other salons without any issue. Despite staying calm, polite, and simply restating my preference, the technician became visibly uncomfortable. I also asked a very standard question about which technician was the most skilled, not as an insult, but because every salon has people who specialize in certain services. That was also taken negatively. Eventually, I was told the hand-filing “would take too long” and the technician refused to continue, suggesting I go elsewhere. So I did. Clients should feel comfortable advocating for their nail health without it escalating or being treated as a problem. My requests were reasonable and communicated respectfully, but the response I received today was unprofessional and unnecessarily dismissive. __________ Update after the owner’s response: Thank you for replying. To clarify, my request did not conflict with any safety protocol, it was simply to hand-file the remaining acrylic once close to my natural nail, which many salons accommodate as a gentler option. I remained polite throughout, but the technician was uncomfortable with the request and chose not to continue. My experience stands as originally stated.

The artist that did my nails (stars on her wrist, regret not asking her name!) was absolutely phenomenal and followed my inspiration pics on the dot. She made sure that things were done properly, even if it took some time. I felt very pretty and got plenty of compliments. Unfortunately, I did have issues when I came back to get them removed ( too pretty for work, oh well). The young gentleman that removed them was too aggressive with the efile on my natural nails. He nicked me and filed too deep near the cuticles. You can see the redness in the last picture. I know it's just $15 to get them off, but please be more careful. My nailbeds are sore.

My first time at Nail It and I will definitely be coming back! All of the staff were so sweet. Jay was really wonderful and helped me picked out the right colors to match my inspo pic. Thank you!
