1989 NAIL BAR

1989 Nail Bar is excellent! I was able to make an appointment, name the services I wanted - gel removal, builder gel infill overlay on natural nails, nail art - and then was met with full professionalism with Claire for my appointment. The salon was clean, friendly, and easy going. They carry a lot of Asian gel brands which I tend to prefer and was having a hard time finding in a short time researching. Claire was an excellent nail tech who took my inspo - smoky/marbly magnet in a fall color palette - and worked through how she would accomplish it with their products, as well as communicating clearly what she was doing during each step (including asking if the service was feeling ok, things like possible heat spikes and my comfort level with the efiling sensations). I appreciated this so much as I was coming in cold as a new client and having felt left in the dark by techs in the past and not loving the results. I would absolutely recommend Claire if you are looking for more Asian styles nail sets (nuance nails, 3d art, certain types of colors) and an all around good experience. Thank you!

i love this nail salon! i only have pics of the last two sets i’ve got (both acrylics, my preference), because i usually take videos of my nails. they always do a pretty good job, better than other salons i’ve been to. my only gripe is they are pretty expensive for the type of nail designs i like to get, but they pretty much always can do the designs i want or get close enough to my desired look that i’m satisfied :) also i always get a mimosa or two when i go which is a nice plus hahaha

Came here for the first time the week of my wedding to get my nails done and had a great experience!! Everyone in the salon was so friendly and they took extra time and care to make sure my nails were perfect! They helped me choose the best option to help my nails look amazing and were so patient with my indecisiveness! I ended up getting gel x! It has been 2 weeks and besides normal grow out, the nails have survived a last minute wedding DIYs, floral arranging, the wedding day, and a tropical honeymoon—and still look amazing (2nd photo)!! I am unable to have nails for my work, but I will be back the next time I have an event or vacation and want my nails done! Would highly recommend!!

Im not one to leave reviews AT ALL but this interaction really bothered me. I am going to start by saying the front desk was very welcoming, salon beautifully aesthetic and clean, and I did absolutely love the color. The color was exactly what I had in mind. 🩷 Although, after my tech had applied the third nail tip onto my nails, I realized they were shorter than what I had wanted. As she was only three tips in, I asked if we can go longer because length was way too short for my liking, and make my nail beds look overly wide. She told me, and I quote “no”. Not happy about this interaction because I am paying to do my nails to my liking and to make me feel put together. I also didn’t want to make anymore fuss about it because her body language was giving me the impression that I was asking for too much :(. I unfortunately won’t be coming back and am sad I paid for nails I don’t love. Could’ve been a bad day that I came in today, but it was my first impression. I also wasn’t a fan of the price I paid for short gel x nails and solid nail color no designs.

This is the second occasion where the staff has demonstrated a complete lack of competence in handling appointment bookings. The first incident occurred when I called to book an appointment for my wife. The receptionist was dismissive, unhelpful, and sounded openly frustrated about having to answer calls or assist with scheduling. Rather than helping guide the booking process, she made no effort to clarify services or ensure the appointment was properly scheduled. The second incident occurred when my wife booked the appointment herself. The receptionist failed to ask any follow up questions to confirm timing or services. When my wife arrived for her appointment, she was told there was not enough time to perform what she had requested. This resulted in her time being wasted and part of her day unnecessarily disrupted. The quality of the work does not justify dealing with such poor customer service and unprofessional behavior. There is no excuse for staff repeatedly mishandling basic appointment scheduling.
