The Design Group

I was very happy with the stylist at The Design Group in Sewickley Pennsylvania. Been a while since I went and been wanting to review. I went last minute and was real nervous because I am biracial and asked when I called for an appointment if they could work with my hair type and they were like, “of course” and I’m like okay. See, I’ve been told this before and I think some places just say of course we can do your hair because they scared if you say no what the person will do to your business. It is really not the salon’s fault if they don’t get clients like myself, we are very picky and have “our people” if you know what I mean. Anyhow, I was really impressed, got some of the weight off my hair and didn’t have to style it for a week other than normal upkeep. I felt so bad it took so long to blow my hair out and flatten some parts. I want to fly back there just to get my hair done again. They do a really good job. And the salon is very clean. And the prices are very reasonable. Oh and the staff is funny how mess with the owner it seems like they worked there a really long time. The Design Group is a very nice friendly environment also.

I love The Design Group. Love. Love. Love. I have been going here since I was a kid. I wish lived closer so I could go more often but when I am in the area I make sure I get my hair done there. I know The Design Group doesn’t have a big social media presence- quite frankly they don’t need it- they have been in business for over 30 years. You would be supporting a small business and getting a good cut, style, color too. Highly recommend

Best haircut I ever had. Steve is talented, not sure if he there still. The The Design Group salon is very clean. Almost too clean. LOL. I don’t mean that in a bad way. And another thing, so I want to say it was 2017 I was there, the person who answers phone I remember said “10 minutes” and I guess that was a cue the owner Gary was coming in, mind you the place is clean so not sure why it was even announced because it wasn’t like there was anything to clean up .. and I am thinking oh no this owner must be mean.. oh no, it was like the king of [insert country] walking through the door. LOL dead serious. Everyone fawned over that man Gary. He called everyone including customers by their name an made sure to give everyone his attention. It’s obvious his staff and customers respect him, and he obviously treats his employees good… With so many places to go, I would pick The Design Group again. The talent however would be hard to match - they are that good.

Very professional. Cut my hair along with my son's and did a great job. One of the best cuts for both of us since we moved here over 5 years ago. We will be return customers for sure!
