Changes Salon & Day Spa

Service was October 31st. I want to highlight the young lady at the desk was fabulous and the lady who actually did my hair was kind, friendly and very sweet. I had my 2 kids with me and was wanting a blowout. I shared a photo of what I was looking for... Wave, dimension and fullness. I sat in the chair for an hour to have a glorified curl done to my hair. The curls looked great. But it was not what I wanted. Prior to the appointment I was quoted $50 for a blowout. My hair is about 2inches below my breast and she said for that length it would be $50. When I paid I was charged $70. (I left a tip because my hair stylist was very kind and I did sit in her chair an hour) I called and spoke to the owner and asked by it was $70 she offered me 10% off my next service (I am a mom of 2 kids and 1 with special needs. I do not do this ....often at all) said "you got a haircut as well" I infact did not get a haircut...🤷🏻‍♀️ She said "oh ok I can offer 15% off your next visit" So I reached on via email and Facebook message...with no response. I just wanted the difference between what I was quoted and what I paid... $20... That was it...

Becca was absolutely amazing! I came in for a waxing appointment and she made sure every single hair was removed—literally didn’t miss a spot. She was super thorough, even making sure there was no wax residue left behind. I really appreciated how patient and attentive she was throughout the whole process. Sanitation was clearly a priority, which made me feel totally comfortable. On top of that, the overall vibe of the salon is so welcoming and relaxing. Highly recommend booking with Becca—you won’t regret it!

Changes… has changed. Let’s start with the headline: It was fine. Like, capital-F Fine. We got what we paid for, my daughter left happy and sparkling, and I didn’t cry in a robe while sipping cucumber water mostly because there were no robes and no cucumber water. A few years ago, Changes Day Spa was my go-to for pre-baby self-care. I’d walk in and be greeted like a queen: cocktail (or mocktail if I was waddling in pregnant), plush robe, and pampering galore. I was so committed to this vibe that I bought my daughter her own tiny robe in advance for her first ever spa day, ready to match and luxuriate like royalty. Well. Turns out, the robes are gone. No mocktails. No water. Nada. Maybe they only bring out the spa magic if you’re getting a massage? Or maybe it’s just a “new ownership, new rules, no Shirley Temples” situation. Not the end of the world, just… a note. That said, the staff was so kind and patient with my three-year-old, and that earns a ton of goodwill from this tired mama. River felt like an absolute princess even when her princess bun started collapsing approximately 12 seconds after we walked out. They styled her adorable updo first, and while it was really cute, I had to ask twice for more hairspray (hi, she’s a preschooler, not a statue - pins aren’t magic). Also, they couldn’t get a center part, which her dance recital called for. I have no idea if that’s genuinely difficult or just hairstylist kryptonite, so no complaints, just reporting live from the front lines of toddler glam. Makeup was A+ effort. River was very wiggly and they pulled off a lovely look despite that. I’d let them paint my face any day (though possibly not while I sing My Little Pony theme at full volume like my daughter did). Nails too were fine. No sugar scrub. No hand mask. No extra pampering that Changes used to be known for. Just a standard polish-and-go which, again, was fine. But when you’re walking in with spa-day dreams and walking out with "meh but shiny," it feels a little lackluster. Now for the real reason I dropped a star: After paying $200, I left a $45 tip - which I thought was reasonable? and overheard the two front desk girls talking about it. I don’t know if it was criticism or just casual commentary, but either way, I was MORTIFIED. It’s one thing to feel judged by your toddler for not letting her wear blue lipstick, it’s another to feel judged by the people you just tipped. The day still felt special. My daughter felt celebrated and sparkly. Everyone was sweet and attentive. But between the missing signature touches and the awkward tip talk, I’m not exactly rushing back. TLDNR: A sweet memory was made, and my daughter floated out on a cloud of glitter and attention. But the old sparkle that made Changes feel extra has faded a bit and overhearing that post-checkout chatter left me feeling less relaxed spa goddess, more “hide in my car and question my tipping etiquette.” Still, 4 stars for kindness, patience, and a wiggly little face full of joy.

I got gel x with sarah sidiq. She was professional and did a very good job. My nails are beautiful and I had a great experience would definitely go back to her 10/10!!!

Awesome salon. They worked with me last minute to help with hair and makeup for my kids photos. They did great with the kids. The environment was really welcoming and the styles came out exactly like I hoped.
