Ambiance Nail Spa

I am Ambiance’s number one fan! I go monthly for a dip manicure and pedicure and have never been disappointed. I have been seeing Trish for the past several months and always enjoy my visits with her. She’s sweet, professional, and always makes sure the shape of my nails is exactly how I want it. I won’t go anywhere else!

I like my nails shorter, and the technician did a great job at making them look great & the length that’s comfortable for me. Even though I had to change my appointment time, they were flexible and I was in & out efficiently without a wait. However, it was more expensive than my regular nail tech.

I've been here only about 4 times to get my nails done. The first time I ever came here, I said I wanted a mani. Which I naturally thought included soak, nail/cuticle clean up, polish. It doesn't. The tech told me to say specifically what services I want, and I would literally spell out what I wanted. (Did not have a problem the other times.) So when I made my appt on line, I put in mani, soak, fill in and polish. Someone texted me back and said "you want a fill in" I replied "yes" thinking about a fill in goes with the mani right? So they changed the service I wanted. So I get there for my appt and the tech removes my old polish, does the drilling of the acrylic and nail to apply the fill in, but that's all. Proceeds to apply polish over the drilled bits, whereas it was gritty. I thought maybe this is a new procedure where the soak would come afterwards. No. That was it. I was confused. I'm not a confrontational, loud person, but as I sat with my nails drying under the fans, I was getting irritated. After they dried, I went to the desk and asked about my request I made when I made my appointment. She said you said "fill in" to the text reply. So that negates my request of what I wanted? Anyway, I called the salon about a remedy. The mgr said I would have to get another service and pay again. I said I'm not going to pay double. So I won't be back to give them my money (plus tips!) Nor will I get gift certificates as I always do around the holidays. I'll give my business to someone else.

I appreciated how quickly they answered the phone, and how I was able to get a Sam's day appointment. I also appreciated how they were attentive and cared for the health of my nails. They suggested a service that would protect the heath of my nail rather than the service I was used to getting because of the condition it was in. I have no complaints with the manicure and pedicure I received. I only gave 4/5 stars because the pricing can be a little expensive, BUT I guess it's that way everywhere. Update at the bottom. I have lived in the Cincinnati area for the past 4 years and have frequented Ambiance (I’ve gotten services at a few of their locations). I’ve always been pleased with my services, and I really enjoy their business, however this past time my results have been lacking. The man who did my nails was wonderful, and I had a great time chit chatting with him, but I’m a bit of an acrylic snob and took notice of some steps that were missed. For example, normally, with a gel acrylic set, the edges of the nails are also painted to create a “seal” to ensure minimal chipping, but this was not done and I have noticed some chipping on a few nails. The cuticle edge of my acrylic was also not drilled/filed flat properly, and there is a sharp edge on a few nails that gets caught on hair, etc. I also had a nail break straight down the middle on me, which has only ever happened to me once prior, years ago, when my hand was closed in a door. This happened with very minimal force around 4 days after my service, but I’ve chosen to let the nail grow out with the rest of my set rather than get it fixed. This is the first time I’ve ever had an acrylic set deteriorate this much this fast (have had these on for two weeks and a few days), and my normal time frame between fills is 4 weeks with no issue. I also got a gel pedicure, but have not had any issue with those results. I’m disappointed because I really enjoy this business and the techs, but I don’t know if I’ll be returning due to the quality :( Update: While I appreciate the reiteration of the warranty policy by the business, some of the issues with this set of nails weren’t noticeable within the first week (especially issues on the cuticle end of the nail due to lack of growth at the time). I have worn acrylic nails for 11 years, and in those 11 years, have never had a set with this many issues, and I’d like to add that it’s just gotten worse each day. I’m less concerned with warranties and more concerned with the quality inconsistency between techs and comparably priced nail salons in the Cincinnati area. I was not and still am not asking for a refund or requesting a fix, I’m just bringing these issues to light.
