I love coming to John D Amico! The students learn as they are doing your hair. They listen and put so much detail to try to get exactly what you ask for! I came in and ask for a raspberry, violet, blond ombre. It came out a little different but the result was still absolutely phenomenal. To match someone's hair with their skin tone and what looks best on them isnt always easy. I had Meg for my stylist. It took 5 hours but the before and after are absolutely mind blowing. Perfect for end of summer beginning of fall season Thank you John D Amici. To the staff, students and always having me feel like a brand me!

I currently attend the nail tech program at John Amico School, and I graduate from the program on October 31st! My experience here has been nothing short of amazing. The classrooms are clean, well-organized, and provide everything you need to succeed. The ventilation and equipment are up to standard, and you can really tell the school cares about student safety and comfort. Mrs. Brandi, the nail program teacher, is phenomenal! She’s patient, professional, and truly passionate about helping every student learn and grow in the beauty industry. She takes the time to make sure you understand each step and always encourages creativity and confidence. The nail tech program wasn’t created just to fill seats; it’s a real opportunity to build your skills and prepare for a successful career. The staff and administration are supportive, and you can feel that they genuinely want you to achieve your goals. Another big plus is location — most other nail programs are an hour to two hours away from the Chicago suburban area, so having such a strong program close by is a huge advantage! If you’re serious about becoming a skilled nail technician, John Amico School is an excellent choice. Thanks to Mrs. Brandi and the entire team, you’ll leave ready to shine in your career! 💅

Massive waste of time. This place is a circus. I drove 45 min to this place TWICE to try to use a Groupon voucher for a keratin treatment. Despite the voucher instructing me to book an appointment, they're walk-in only. I came at noon on 10/25 and the manager said they wouldn't be able to fit me in and to come back on Tuesday, 10/28. Tuesday I came less than 15 min after they opened. I sat in the waiting area for about 2.5 hours before the same manager from Saturday came up to me and told me they wouldn't be able to fit me in because the students were having a Halloween costume contest during business hours that day so they only had a couple of people actually doing clients' hair. Mind you I was getting married that Friday on Halloween! Why tell me to come back on Tuesday and not mention the costume contest knowing it would be this disruptive to service? I was so distraught after wasting all that time driving there and sitting in the waiting area just 3 days before my wedding that I cried in my car before booking an appointment for a similar service at Ulta. John Amico's had a placard in the waiting area listing their values and pledges to the clients; promising to give them their full attention and not waste time on their phones, chatting amongst themselves, etc. What a joke! The place was packed with students doing their own hair and makeup! Why wasn't this scheduled outside of working hours? Why did I have to sit around for nearly 3 hours only to get turned away again? Goofy. I ended up requesting a refund from Groupon. As an aside, the Ulta employee who did my hair later said that she's heard horror stories about John Amico's school from several former students of theirs. It's disorganized and the students basically teach themselves. Maybe it's for the best that they didn't do my hair.

Meg colored my hair, and she did great. My color came out wonderfully, and she was very gentle with my hair. I appreciate her very much and will definitely come see her again. Alexis did my two strand twist, and they came out perfect. I cut got a trim from her as well , and she was very precise and made sure I was comfortable with the cut the whole time. Also she works amazing with a blow dryer. She’s amazing

All of our educators are truly amazing and carefully chosen to ensure every student’s success. I would like to give a special acknowledgment to Ms. Ann, who is not only a dedicated educator but also the person everyone can count on. She brings positivity to the classroom no matter what she may be going through outside of school. Ms. Ann makes learning enjoyable while also guiding us in professionalism when needed. I deeply appreciate her and all of the teachers for the impact they make every day.
