Nail Essence Salon & Spa

This was my first and definitely last visit to this salon. When I called to make the appointment, I was told they offer dip powder. However, once I arrived, they said they would have to apply gel on top of the dip powder — which wasn’t mentioned earlier. I specifically asked for a square shape, but what I got was completely shapeless — neither square nor round. The overall look is unprofessional. I’ve had my nails done many times before, and this was by far one of the worst experiences. The nails came out extremely thick and bumpy. I also suggested that using a darker color under the glitter might give a better finish, but instead, it was layered over and over, which just made things worse. I did share my concerns directly with both the technician and the owner. It’s not about the money for me — it’s about the quality of work, and unfortunately, the results were very disappointing. I would not return or recommend this place to anyone.

Visiting Illinois and needed a last minute group of 3, $35 each, pedicure. We really got lucky, called, walk-in 10 minutes later, and all 3 of us were chillin' out getting feet done. I have painful toenails, and the very nice lady was so Gentle!!! Thank you for that!!! This review is a few weeks late...

when I went to the salon, I had high expectations from the worker is there because I heard very good things about it on the reviews, but I was very fooled. I went there with the expectations of me getting acrylic French chips and a pedicure with no chip gel on my toes. I went there and asked for it and the lady started working on me on my toes. The pedicure itself was fine and it could’ve been better, but it was very rushed. she cut my toe cuticles very harshly and made me hurt. when I moved onto my manicure, she was very unclean and all the brushes were dirty. She started putting on tips on my nails without even pushing back my cuticles nor prepping them she used a big brush that was already full of dust from other clients nails, which was very unclean on mine and I felt uncomfortable. then when she started to move onto the she, I asked for almond and she gave me round. I specifically asked for them to be skinnier and shorter, but she didn’t fulfill my wishes. when she did the design, the French tip was very messy, and the lines were not straight at all like the images that were displayed on the wall. I told her could she please clean under my nails because there is gel polish all underneath, but she just blatantly ignored me and I felt very aggravated because I knew I was paying a huge price when I left the salon. I was very disappointed with my nails. I paid a huge price for something that I could’ve done better myself my cuticles were not cut, and even only two days later my nails were overgrown because she didn’t push back my cuticles. Please do not waste your money here go somewhere else. This is a horrible salon quality.

Love this place! There is plenty of parking behind the building in which nail salon is located. You may find parking on a side street as well. All the workers are happy to accommodate customers even without appointment, however I would recommend making one to ensure that you will get all of the services required by a specific time that fits your personal schedule. You might not be sure about the exact color or style that would look good on you, don’t worry about it because they’ll be happy to figure that out with you and also give you suggestions on something new that you’ll absolutely love it! They will make sure that you leave their shop happy!

This was my first time at Nail Essence and I was very impressed. I went here based on a review from someone I know so I decided to go! I was impressed with the professionalism and nail work! I got acrylic nails and a removal of the old ones I had on. This is my new nail place. Matthew did my nails and he was fantastic! He was very polite and I felt like family as soon as I walked in.
